QC Photos Explained: What to Look For Before You Buy
Understanding the QC Photo Package
Every VigorBuy listing includes a standardized QC photo package. Learn what each photo means and what to check. The standard package contains 5-8 photos: front view (overall shape, proportions, and drape), back view (alignment of back prints or panels), side view (profile silhouette and stitching), logo close-up (sharpness, spacing, and color accuracy), material texture (fabric weave and weight impression), stitching detail (thread density and straightness), and measurement photo (ruler in frame showing key dimensions). For sneakers, additional photos include insole measurement, outsole tread pattern, and box condition. Understanding what each photo reveals prevents disappointment.
Red Flags to Reject Immediately
Some flaws are dealbreakers. Our agents flag these as automatic rejections: logo misalignment exceeding 2mm, color shade deviation visible to the naked eye, stitching gaps or loose threads, incorrect material texture, wrong hardware color or type, and size measurement deviation over 1cm from spec. For sneakers, additional red flags include: uneven toe box shape, off-center swoosh or stripe, incorrect insole print font, and box damage that suggests poor factory handling. If your QC photos show any of these, reject immediately and request a replacement. VigorBuy agents will handle the factory communication for you.

Minor Flaws vs. Dealbreakers
Not every imperfection is worth rejecting. Minor flaws that agents typically approve: slight thread fuzz on interior seams, 1-2mm logo placement variance within tolerance, and packaging creases that steam out. Dealbreakers that agents always reject: visible exterior flaws, logo color errors, material substitution, and sizing errors over 1cm. The key question is: will this flaw be visible when worn? Interior seam fuzz is invisible. A crooked chest logo is immediately visible. VigorBuy agents apply the '3-foot rule' — if you cannot see the flaw from 3 feet away while wearing the item, it is likely acceptable.
How to Request Additional QC Photos
Need a specific angle not in the standard package? Message your VigorBuy agent with your request. Common additional requests include: sleeve length measurement, collar interior tag close-up, pocket interior stitching, and zipper pull detail. Agents typically fulfill additional photo requests within 24 hours at no charge for standard angles. Complex requests like side-by-side retail comparison photos may take 48 hours. For high-value items ($100+), agents proactively include extra angles. The spreadsheet notes 'Additional Photos Available' for listings where agents have already taken supplementary shots.
Building Your QC Judgment Over Time
The more QC photos you review, the faster you spot issues. Experienced VigorBuy buyers can evaluate a full QC package in under 2 minutes. New buyers should take 5-10 minutes and compare against retail reference photos. Save reference photos of authentic items from brand websites or verified resale platforms. When reviewing QC, have the reference photo open in a split screen. Focus on the three most important elements: logo accuracy, material texture, and overall proportions. With practice, your approval rate will improve and your return rate will drop to near zero. VigorBuy agents are always available to double-check your assessment if you are unsure.
